List an aircraft for sale
- 1Select a type, make, model, and optionally, a model variant and year
A type, make and model are required. Selecting a year will load the Planedock default profile for the selected model, if we have one. A default profile will automatically populate some of the equipment fields to reduce the amount of typing you have to do. See the video below.
If you do not see the make, model or variant in our database, click Add a Make or Add a Model, or Add a Variant, and type those values into the input field. Listings with added makes or variants may take up to 48 hours to appear in search as we have to approve these additions. Also, we may change your entries here to fit our database if we determine that your listing would better fit in an existing make, model or variant. See our terms and conditions or contact us if you have questions about this policy.
- 2Upload up to 5 photos
For best results, be sure to include at least 3 photos, one of the exterior, one of the interior, and one of the instrument panel. The other 2 images can be anything you want, another exterior shot from a different angle or detailed photos of the interior, panel or specific equipment. Drag the best exterior photo to the top of the list so it will be the listing preview image.
- 3Fill in the aircraft details
Fill in the aircraft current location, the registation number, the serial number (if available), and the aircraft total time to the nearest tenth of an hour.
- 4Add engine total time(s) (optional)
Type in the engine time to the nearest tenth of an hour and click Add. Repeat for all the engines on your aircraft. To delete an engine time, click the X next to the time.
- 5Add life-limited component times (optional)
While it may be overkill to add the entire aircraft status sheet here, buyers may like to see the times/cycles of a few key components, but you can add up to 50 if you wish.
- 6Add Airframe, Powerplant, Avionics, Interior and Ground Equipment (as applicable)
To display equipment on your aircraft you can choose equipment from our database using the dropdown select menus, or you can choose Other and type in the fields yourself. See below.
All the equipment lists work the same way: in each of the equipment dropdowns select a Type of equipment or create your own by choosing Other and filling in the text input below the dropdown field with your custom Type. Pick a Brand from the list or create a new brand by choosing Other, and typing in the brand to the text field below the dropdown field. If the equipment is factory original select OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) as the brand. Select a model of Equipment or create your own by selecting Other, and typing in the equipment in the text field. Finally, click Add Equipment to add it to the list. Click the X next to the item to remove it.
Note: The equipment will appear in each list as the "[Brand] [Model]" unless the brand is OEM, in which case the brand will not be shown.
Pro Tip
Since the equipment [TYPE] doesn't appear in the lists, it helps to add the type manually to the equipment input. For example, enter "SX-5 Searchlight" instead of just "SX-5".

Stay safe and prevent fraud
Protecting yourself when buying and selling aircraft is crucial. Follow these essential safety guidelines to avoid fraud and ensure secure transactions.
Security Guidelines
- 1Use a secure password with at least 15 characters, including upper and lowercase letters, numbers, special characters. It can help to use a passphrase, which is where the password is the first letters of a memorable phrase such as: "I Love airplanes more than anything in the world" yields "iLamtaitw". Obviously this example is too short to be secure.
- 2Don't click links in emails from prospective buyers. If you post your email address on the public internet, expect spam and malicious links to be present and do not click links in emails from unknown senders.
- 3Don't use the chat feature for sensitive or secure communications. All the terms of an aircraft purchase should be made through secure channels and in written purchase agreements drafted by attorneys.
- 4Consult legal representation to create a purchase agreement. Don't purchase aircraft "word of mouth". Always put the terms of the purchase in writing drafted by a lawyer.
- 5Learn to recognize fraud. Time pressure is the signal of fraud. If a seller says, "I've got to sell this by tomorrow!" that should raise alarm. If aircraft and/or parts fail to have proper paperwork or traceability (a clear chain of custody and usage) they are often worthless. Beware of aircraft or parts that have been imported, and consult with Designated Airworthiness Representatives and licensed and qualified aircraft brokers to complete international transactions.
- 6Never buy an aircraft without a pre-buy inspection. Buying aircraft without the inspection of a licensed, qualified, and experienced mechanic is asking for financial disaster. Aircraft value hinges often entirely on the condition of not easily visible areas: engine and transmission internals, structural members such as wing spars, as well as the numbers on arcane and complex paperwork such as component hard cards and repair station discharge receipts. You must seek help to avoid buying a nightmare.
Critical Safety Reminder
Aircraft transactions involve significant financial risk. Always work with qualified professionals including licensed mechanics, attorneys, and experienced brokers to protect your investment and ensure safety compliance.
